Bicycle safety and traffic safety knowledge is as important as wearing proper safety equipment and knowing how to operate your bike properly.
New (and some experienced!) riders often have some very dangerous misconceptions about what is proper traffic riding procedure and etiquette.
The simplest trick to riding safely and predictably (so cars can react safely to your presence) is to ride as if you are a car and to be very VISIBLE.
We will be covering some safety basics on our Thursday Night Rides (see the link on the main page!). I have also pasted some links below that can and should be helpful.
The first link has many examples of common risky behavior and proper procedure to avoid such events...
Bicycle Safety: How to not get hit by cars.
The second link talks about riding as a car and some other misconceptions about bikes on the road...

The last link (I'd love more!) is the Wiki page for vehicular cycling...
